Fifty Shades of Grey Trailer Reaches 100M Views on the First Week of Release

Universal Pictures hails “Fifty Shades of Grey” as the most watched trailer on its first week of release, as it reaches 100 million online views. Read on to know more about this scoop.

Who would have thought that the success of “Fifty Shades of Grey” as a book would also turn out to be its parallel success on its viewing percentage? That’s right. In the same way that the author of “Fifty Shades of Grey” E. L. James has sold over 100 million books on its publications, the recently released “Fifty Shades” trailer has reached 100 million accumulated views on the internet. That being said, “Fifty Shades of Grey” now holds the title for the biggest online trailer launch in history.

“The movie is pulling monumental views,” says RelishMix CEO Marc Krazen.

The feature of Escapist Magazine indicated that Universal Pictures has two YouTube accounts, and on those alone, the trailer has already reached an astounding view of 33 million, with the domestic account gaining 13 million views, while UK presented a distinctive number of almost 20 million views. Going out of YouTube, there are also videos that were reposted by fans all over the globe and were shared on a regular basis via social media accounts, mainly on Facebook and Instagram.

From Variety’s take on such update, they also counted the unannounced teaser that was released by Beyonce on her Instagram account last July 19, 2014, which garnered over 443,000 likes with a shocking 83,000 comments. Talk about notification overload on Queen B’s account that holds about 14 million followers.

For a movie that was heavily criticized and considered as Mommy Porn, “Fifty Shades of Grey” has outdone its reputation as the adoring fans appear to have overpowered the negativity that surrounded the popular yet sensational material. Suffice to say that a true “Fifty Shades” fan would not just watch the trailer just once. They would basically watch it over and over again until they feel like they’ve had enough of it. However, it would appear that the trailer will continue to tease them in ways more than one which will render the trailer to be in an absolute splay of repetition on their devices.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” packs the ultimate film debut of Dakota Johnson as she plays the naive Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as he plays as the hunky magnate Christian Grey who bears a peculiar taste for passion. The movie is directed by Twilight’s Sam Taylor-Johnson and is set to hit the theaters on Valentine’s eve, Feb. 13, 2015.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” may not be due for a couple more months, but it seems like we can already smell its aroma for success as early as now.
