Filipino Singer To Replace Zayn Malik In One Direction; Reality TV Show In The Works?

Pinoy fans, listen up. It seems like the boys of One Direction has moved on from Zayn Malik’s departure. Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne have allegedly found a new band member… and he’s Filipino.

An insider from When in Manila, claimed that One Direction was eyeing a Filipino singer to be part of the boy band. It was said that the management wanted to “make up” for Zayn Malik’s absence during the “Where We Are” tour that they have decided to “scout for new talent” while they were in the Philippines. After all, there are tons of good singers in the country: Lea Salonga, Arnel Pineda of Journey and of Black Eyed Peas to name a few.

The website claimed that Jovit Baldivino is being considered to replace Zayn Malik in One Direction. “Like the rest of the band, he started out in a talent show as well. I’m sure they’ll have a lot in common,” the source said.

The insider added that the final announcement will be released before the day ends. Mark your calendars, Directioners!

In a related news, another insider from Radar Online teased that Simon Cowell wanted to do a reality show to find the next One Direction member. After all, the band was founded through “The X Factor” so it only seemed natural for Simon and the management team to go back to their roots. Not to mention the show could probably be one of the highest rated reality shows today.

The source also pointed out that all the biggest bands in the world were made up of five members. Think of The Jackson Five, N Sync and Backstreet Boys.

“Quartets never stay afloat in the boy band world,” the source said.
