Find Out How Much Mariah Carey Will Pay If She Spills the Beans as Nick Cannon Files for Divorce
“You’ll always be a part of me, I’m part of you indefinitely” are the lyrics in one of Mariah Carey’s famous songs. After her estranged husband, Nick Cannon has officially announced their split, it looks like they will always have each other’s back thanks to their prenup. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
We all know that Carey and Cannon’s prenuptial agreement was loaded like a bomb. Now that he has officially filed for divorce from Carey, it looks like the public won’t hear any word from the two about their split.
According to TMZ, Cannon has already filed for divorce on Dec. 12, 2014. And if one can actually remember, just days before he filed for divorce, Carrey has made headlines after her NBC tree lighting performance where the “Butterfly” singer sang off-key.
The outlet reported details about the couple’s prenuptial agreement. According to their sources, if Cannon violates the confidentiality clause in their prenup, he would have to pay her a $250,000 penalty. But if Carey is the one to spill the beans about their relationship, she’s going to have to pay him twice.
Why does she have to pay for a higher penalty if she breaks the clause? It seems like Carey and Cannon’s worth before coming into marriage have something to do with the penalty. Cannon was reportedly worth less than $500,000 when he came into their marriage. Add to that his $500,000 payment for Carey’s engagement ring worth $2.5 million, which led the “America’s Got Talent” host to take a loan worth $470,000. Carey, on the other hand, is worth a whopping $150 million, including a reportedly listed $30 million.
Moreover, Cannon seems to be having the time of his life partying and enjoying his time with his rumored girlfriend, Amber Rose. Reports have surfaced that Carey is hitting rock bottom after her split from her husband. According to Classicalite, she was so desperate for some TLC that she even called her ex, Eminem, despite being bashed by the rapper publicly.
With such a high price tagged for their silence, it seems as though we won’t be hearing much from these two.
