First Look From ‘Bourne 5’: A Ripped, Mean Matt Damon
Matt Damon is back in “Bourne 5,” with a vengeance. A recent photo by producer Frank Marshall’s show’s a lean, angry Damon channelling his inner ‘Jason Bourne.’ Read on for more details.
Frank Marshall might be celebrating completion of the first day of principal photography, but Bourne looks pretty pissed off and in better fighting shape than ever. Damon’s first look from “Bourne 5” looks like like the supposed tone of the movie, austere, gritty and action filled. In our previous report, we covered Damon on the themes of the coming movie.
“It’s Bourne through an austerity-riddled Europe and in a post-Snowden world. It seems like enough has changed, you know? There are all these kinds of arguments about spying and civil liberties and the nature of democracy.”
Paul Greengrass is helming the project as director. The actor has confirmed that the movie will be set partly in a Greece under the throes of the economic crisis, partly in Las Vegas, USA. In Damon’s own words, from the earliest example of democracy to the most grotesque one. Damon also mentioned that they always saw the Bourne movies to be set in the Bush presidency and had to wait for the world to change to make a new one.
“Bourne 5” will also star a villainous Vincent Cassel playing an assassin character, along with Tommy Lee Jones and Alicia Vikander. Julia Stiles is also back reprising her character ‘Nicky.’
“Bourne 5” is set to hit the theaters on July 29, 2016.
