First Look on the New Thor and Captain America

Earlier, Marvel has announced that they will introduce a female Thor, while Sam Wilson, a.k.a. the Falcon, will debut as the next Captain America as part of its “Avengers NOW!” initiative, consisting of waves that will take the Marvel Universe forward in exciting new directions. Well, wait no more because here’s the first look on the all-new Thor and Captain America.

Following the events of Dimension Z, Arnim Zola and his army of mutates have invaded Manhattan aided by the devious Red Skull. With both of his foes teaming up, Steve Rogers stands a broken man, drained of his Super Soldier Serum. Rogers must now rely on his allies, Sharon Carter, Jet Black, his son Ian and Sam Wilson. Oversized CAPTAIN AMERICA #25 witnesses the birth of a new Captain America, when Sam Wilson wields the shield for the first time before he takes on the mantle in all-new Captain America #1 in November.

“Overiszed Captain America” is written by Rick Remender, with artist Carlos Pacheco bringing the saga to life. “Oversized Captain America #25” hits stores and digital devices in October.

On the surface of the moon lies the Mjölnir, the great hammer, unable to be lifted by anyone including the Mighty Thor. Something has happened with the God of Thunder, making him unworthy to wield his mighty hammer. With an impending invasion of Earth by Frost Giants, a mysterious woman, unlike any other we’ve ever seen before, will lift the hammer becoming the all-new Thor! Who is this mysterious new God of Thunder? Perhaps Goddess of Thunder? Not even Odin knows. New York Times-bestselling writer Jason Aaron and rising star artist Russell presents the all new THOR #1

“This is not She-Thor. This is not Lady Thor. This is not Thorita. This is Thor. This is the Thor of the Marvel Universe. But it’s unlike any Thor we’ve ever seen before,” says writer Jason Aaron.

“Avengers NOW!” is the fifth wave of the Marvel NOW! initiative that re-launches several ongoing comic books published by Marvel Comics, including new titles such as “Uncanny Avengers” and “All-New X-Men.” It follows the shifts within the storyline after the events of the “Avengers vs. X-Men.” How the events that occurred would spur changes both the superhero community and mutant-kind? The initiative brings not only change within the fictional universe but also to its publishing format. Publishing changes include new creative teams for each of the titles, and the in-universe changes include changes to character designs and new storylines.
