Five Best Things About ‘Bad Judge’

Bad Judge” will begin its first season run on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. The comedy series stars Kate Walsh (“Fargo”) as a well-respected judge in court who has a wild side. The series is created by Adam McKay, Chad Kultgen and Chris Henchy, with Will Ferrel, Anne Heche, McKay and Walsh as producers. We can think of five best things as to why you should watch this series. Read on.

One woman: Kate Walsh

Networks love Kate Walsh and snagging her for the prime Thursday block is one that NBC is proud to have. She has been more familiar to viewers in dramatic roles, but Walsh is a very talented actress and comedienne. Not a lot know of people know that about her yet. While she works dramatic roles really well, she can also go insane with comedy, and that’s what “Bad Judge” intends to deliver, when they put her in the show.

Rebecca Wright, what a character!

As a judge, Rebecca is tough and straightforward. She controls the courtroom well, but after work, all hell breaks lose.  She has a multi-layered facet that shows her stern side and her wacky side. She also has a loving and emphatic side, too! You’ve got to see this character.

Two Ryans: Ryan McPartlin and Ryan Hansen

Some casting changes were done early in the pilot development. The show did get rid of a couple of actors but replaced them with two hunks named Ryan — McPartlin and Hansen — who will be bringing more spice and fun to the series. They both will play Rebecca Wright’s love interest. Which team Ryan will you be on?

NBC had the pilot retooled.

Admittedly, the show had a few bumps even before its premiere, with character changes and story adjustments. But here’s hoping that things have fallen into place with the hiring of its new showrunner. Retooling can be seen as good news as the show is finally going in the right direction.

You can get the Will Ferrell vibe in some of the comedies.

If you like Ferrell’s brash humor, you can definitely get a sense of this in the episodes. The comedy can be low brow, according to critic reviews, however, sometimes it’s what viewers want to see in order to relax and be entertained.
