Five Mainstream Celebs With Their Indie Better Halves
It’s all but normal for celebrities to date among the industry. Then again, it could be a bit boring. For most fans, they would want to ship two mainstream celebrities together because of their good looks, chemistry on screen, etc. But wouldn’t it be more interesting and intriguing to see celebrities date outside of their mainstream zone? Wouldn’t you want to see an up and coming Hollywod heartthrob go out with an indie artist?
One, it’s not impossible. Two, it’s already happening. Here are some mainstream celebrities who have indie partners.
Andy Samberg and Joanna Newson
Alright, Andy Samberg hasn’t hit super mainstream status yet, but the comedian has been a lead cast member for “Saturday Night Live” and has an Emmy Award-winning sitcom. Some of his fans are actually surprised that Samberg is married to Joanna Newsom and the same thing for the fans of Newsom too. Samberg grew up in the Bay Area and has been a fan of Newsom, an indie musician known for playing the harp.
FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson
The indie singer and artist has been vocal about the disapproval she has received since dating “Twilight” actor Robert Pattinson. Mainly, FKA Twigs has attributed in to crazy fans and fan base that the movie franchise has built. But Pattinson has been known to shy away from the spotlight since the beginning of his career. Even his romance with fellow “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart crumbled partly because of the pressure of the Hollywood spotlight. Dating someone in Hollywood isn’t Pattinson’s style, and he has been seen watching indie concerts and immersing himself in the scene. It’s no surprise that the London-based indie artist caught his eye.
Angel Haze And Ireland Baldwin
Model Ireland Baldwin belongs to the Hollywood mainstream sphere as the daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. On the other hand, Detroit-native rapper Angel Haze has some serious street indie cred under her belt. Their adorable pictures on Instagram has warmed the hearts of their supporters and showed how mainstream and indie could look good together.
Krysten Ritter and Adam Granduciel
The 33-year-old actress of the up and coming Netflix series “Jessica Jones” has gone on record about her favorite band The War on Drugs. She and the lead singer of the band Adam Granduciel have been going out for over a year after attending a couple of the band’s show.
Dakota Johnson and Matt Hitt
London-native band singer Matt Hitt is about to realize how mainstream his girlfriend, Dakota Johnson, star of “Fifty Shades of Grey” is. Aside from the release of her steamy movie, Johnson has been on the cover of almost every magazine and has been doing the rounds of press in time for the release of the movie.
