Floyd Mayweather Earns $300 Million Becomes Highest Paid Athelete, Find Included The Top 11 Highest Paid Celebrities Of List of 2015
How much money is enough for you? To say the least, any amount of money is good money. The world of sports is filled with highly paid athletes. The pay check given to athletes run into hundreds of millions of dollars. Floyd Mayweather is making news again, not for his lighting fast punches this time, but by breaking the record of highest paid athlete.
According to Forbes Magazine, hold on to your heart, for he was given a pay check of $300 million a year which breaks the previous record of highest pay check given to Tiger Woods. Back in 2008, Tiger Woods’ bank account swelled by $118 million and he became the highest paid athlete.
On May 2, Mayweather had a fight with Manny Pacquiao and that event broke many financial records, including sponsorship of 13 million dollars, total gate of seventy-three million dollars and PPV buys of 4.4 million dollars.
Once the event was over and the accumulation was counted it turned out to be more than $600 million. Ahead of the fight in May, Floyd Mayweather signed agreements with Burger King, FanDuel and Hublot, but usually he kept himself away from signing new endorsements.
According to The Daily Mirror, in the remarkably successful thirty months in the past, the fight with Pacquiao was the fifth bout and it is part of the sixth fight deal he had signed for Showtime in 2013. Mayweather is in plans to retire after the completion of this deal and his last fight is scheduled to be held in September. Mayweather holds a record of 48 – 0.
Manny Pacquiao comes as the second highest paid athlete and he is ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Roger Federer for this year standing. Boxing, football, basketball, and golf are the sports wherein athletes are paid among the highest.
