Floyd Mayweather ‘Scared to Death’ of Manny Pacquiao? Fight Unlikely to Happen in 2015
It seems like the much-awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather would not be happening anytime soon. The reason? Well, Mayweather is apparently “scared to death” of the boxing champ.
Rapper 50 Cent is pessimistic about chances of a square off. According to a tweet sent by Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao will not happen the latter is “scared to death” of losing.
Now this could be nothing but trash talk on the rapper’s part. Mayweather and 50 Cent used to be really good friends but had a public falling out in the recent years.
According to Latin Post, neither Pacquiao nor Mayweather have a scheduled fight for 2015, which started rumors that the two are dodging each other in the rich. The “negotiations” had been going on for roughly two months, with the boxers meeting at a Miami Heat game to settle the agreement.
While Pacquiao has agreed to all of Mayweather’s demands — winnings, location drug testing — the fight’s schedule has still yet to reach a confirmation. According to Yahoo! Sports, Mayweather is not keen on settling the score with Pacquiao. In the last five years, the boxer did nothing but complain, change his demands several times and blame Bob Arum, his former promoter, for his shortcomings.
In spite of it all, the Filipino southpaw still remained confident about a potential fight with Mayweather. He recently posted a photo on his Instagram account, saying that his preparing for a “serious training” for his “upcoming” fight.
Although Pacquiao didn’t mention whom he’s going up against, fans still can’t help but speculate that it’s finally Mayweather. We sure hope that the two boxing sensation would come to an agreement. The fight is definitely long overdue, don’t you think?
