‘Foo Fighters’ Cancel Europe Concert Tour
European fans of “Foo Fighters,” I’m sorry but the band has just cancelled their remaining European dates after Dave Grohl broke his leg during their Swedish concert.
Grohl tripped and fell of the stage during their concert on Friday in Gothenburg while performing their hit song “Monkey Wrench.” He remained on the floor for several minutes before he went backstage. Grohl even asked paramedics to pop his ankle back in so he can continue with the show. He even told the crowd, “Hey, ladies and gentlemen… I love you, but I think I just broke my leg. I really broke my leg.”
Fortunately, Grohl managed to go through with the concert and finish but was advised by doctors to postpone the rest of the tour because it might just cause more damage to the injury.
“Foo Fighters” have posted a picture on the Instagram account Grohl’s X-ray scan with the caption “Thank you Gothenburg. That was amazing.”
Since the tour has been postponed, affected shows are the Pinkpop Festival on June 14, June 14 in Switzerland and shows at Wembley Stadium in London and the Glastonbury Festival.
Grohl dislocated his ankle and snapped the fibula bone in his right leg and just this Monday, he underwent surgery and Grohl wrote a letter to their fans:
“My doctors have advised me to lay low for a while, the most important thing now is for me to recover from the surgery, to keep my leg elevated so as to keep swelling down and prevent any infection/complication that could do long-term damage. I’m not out of the woods yet, folks, which means, and it kills me to say it, the doctors have told us to cancel shows. I’m really so sorry, guys. You know I hate to do it, but I’m afraid it’s just not physically possible for me at the moment.”
