Forever” Season 1 Episode 19 “Punk Is Dead” aired last Mar. 31, 2015, at 10:00 p.m. on ABC. In this episode, Detective Jo Martinez’s (Alana de la Garza) date with Isaac Monroe (Cuba Gooding Jr.) ended up as a murder investigation after they discovered a mummified body hidden in the wall they were at. Meanwhile, in the course of the investigation, Dr. Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd) became obsessed with it after realizing that the case reminded him of his wife, Abigail Morgan. Read on to learn more about this episode.

While Abe (Judd Hirsch) and Dr. Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd) had dinner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana de la Garza) went out on a date with Isaac Monroe (Cuba Gooding Jr.) at the Trash Bar, a club that he was planning on tearing down. Their date quickly turned into a crime scene. It was after they discovered a mummified body inside the wall after a performer smashed his guitar into it.

At the morgue, as they were rehydrating her body, they got a call from Eddie Warsaw (Frederick Weller). He had been imprisoned for thirty-five years for the murder of the woman that they found, his girlfriend, Lucy Templeton (Betsey Brown).

Later, Lieutenant Reece (Lorraine Toussaint) told them that she had been a beat cop at that time. She believed that the investigation at that time wasn’t thorough enough.

Jo and Henry then paid a visit to Eddie. He maintained that he was innocent, and pleaded with them to find out what really happened to Lucy. Because of this, Henry remembered that he had been in agony in 1985. It was when Abigail Morgan left him and had left behind a “Dear John letter,” which caused the police not to look for her.

At the morgue, Henry discovered some puncture marks on Lucy’s left thigh. He determined that she had not been hit with an electric guitar’s handle as there was only one wound at the back of her head. Henry then persuaded Eddie not to take the plea deal that the District Attorney was offering so that they could still figure out who killed Lucy. They were then given forty-eight hours to find her killer.

Later, at home, Abe began to warn Henry that he was becoming obsessed with the case. It seemed like history was repeating itself as Henry had been like this for an entire year after Abigail had left, as he had tried to track her down. However, when he woke up, he discovered that Abe had thrown all the evidence he had gathered away so that they could move on.

Back at the morgue, they discovered that Lucy had had $9,000 inside her jacket. After tracking down Carl Massey (Jordan Gelber), the photographer of the coffee table book on the Trash Bar, they discovered that the money had been given by Frank Farrell (Kelly AuCoin). He was currently the subject of a Federal investigation and was off limits to the New York Police Department.

Because of this, Henry and Lucas Wahl (Joel David Moore) went to Farrell’s club to obtain DNA evidence, much to the annoyance of Jo, who was on a date with Isaac.

Afterwards, he told them that he hadn’t killed her. He had given her the money as she had wanted to start a new life, and had been clean for quite a time. They then decided to talk to Eddie’s old band mates who had seen Lucy as an obstacle to Eddie gaining fame and fortune.

However, they learned from Rich Dornis (Neal Huff), the bassist, whose leather cuff matched the marks on Lucy’s leg. Lucy and Eddie had gotten into a fight that night, and that Rich had found her dead beside Eddie’s knife. He then had stuck her in the wall where they had found her.

After examining Lucy’s skull again, Lucas and Henry realized that Lucy had been killed as she had been slammed against a big nail that was on the wall back then. Jo and Henry then found a bloody fingerprint, which didn’t match Eddie’s. It didn’t matter anymore as Eddie had signed a plea deal, and had been released.

After Lucy’s toxicology report came back, Henry realized that Lucy had gotten clean as she had had a baby, whom they later on realized was Carl Massey’s assistant, his adopted son, Jeffrey Templeton (Nick Erkelens). It turned out that he had helped Lucy get clean and had accidentally killed her as she wanted to go back to Eddie. However, as they led him outside, Eddie came to confront him, but dropped the gun after being told the truth, and as Jeffrey had come for Carl.

Afterwards, Henry encouraged Eddie to be with his son. He remembered that police had thought that they had found a dead Abigail, but it turned out not to be her. Because of that, Abe proposed that they open an antique shop together as Henry had a lot of those collected over the years.

Later that night, Henry told Abe that something about the two doves logo of the hospital that sent over Jeffrey’s birth records to the NYPD seemed familiar and somehow reminded him of Abigail. Afterwards, Abe went to the storage facility where he had placed all of Henry’s evidence on Abigail and discovered that the logo matched the stamp of the letter sent by Abigail.
