‘The Foundation’ Comics To Get Own Movie
Today, major comic book companies are getting their material adapted to both the silver and small screens. When one thinks of comic book into film adaptations, more often than not, most would automatically think of Marvel Comics, such as “The Avengers”, or DC Comics, such as “Batman.” However, they are not the only ones in the business. One such contender is Boom! Studios, whose comic, “The Foundation” will be adapted by 20th Century Fox, according to Deadline. Read on to learn more about the story.
Based on the synopsis on the Boom! Comics website, “The Foundation” centers around the prophecies of Nostradamus. He had used his money in order to create a secret organization which survives to the present day. Their mission is to use Nostradamus’ prophecies and books in order to predict and prevent the prophesied catastrophes from happening. The comic book series was created by Kody Chamberlai. The story was written by John Rozum and was drawn by Chee.
Boom! Studios was created in 2005. It houses several comic books and graphic novels, such as “Suicide Risk” by Mike Carey and “Planet of the Apes” by Humberto Ramos. It’s all ages arm produces and houses known titles such as Charles Schulz’s “Peanuts,” Jim Davis’ “Garfield”, and Cartoon Network’s “Adventure Time” and “The Regular Show.”
According to The Holywood Reporter (THR), the film adaptation will be written by Evan Daughtry. He writing credits include “Snow White and the Huntsman” (2012), “Divergent” (2014) and the recently released “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (2014), which is currently doing well in the box office.
THR also reported that this is not the first time that Boom! Studios has collaborated with 20th Century Fox. It has already signed with the studio before. The company made negotiations for a first-look deal in October 2013. Aside from “The Foundation,” the studio is also producing a film based on one of their comics, “Malignant Man.”
