Fred Thompson No More; America Loses A Great Politician And The ‘Law & Order’ Star

He was a man of many parts. It was big blow to politics when the news of former senator Fred Thompson’s sudden death came into public domain on Sunday. Read On!

Fred Thompson was no ordinary man. A presidential candidate for the GOP, an ex-senator from Tennessee and an accomplished actor who acted on the hit television show “Law and Order.” So it was indeed a sad moment for all when Thomson passed away on this Sunday at the age of 73 in Nashville.

Apparently, Thompson expired due to a recurrence of lymphoma. This was shared through a statement prepared by the Thompson family. It was in 2004 that Thompson was first detected with cancer. Recently, he had bought a house in Nashville with an intention of returning to Tennessee.

The statement issued by his family read that they were announcing with great grief and a heavy heart the death of a loving grandfather, dad, husband and brother. He was surrounded by his family members at the time of his death. The family also said that the former senator had a peaceful death.

Thompson had once said that his upbringing and growing up in Tennessee- a small town that shaped up his experiences about how to deal with life and impacted his approach to the world.

The family also told that Fred had enormous love, as well as, deep connection with the residents of Tennessee. He had got the opportunity to serve them through the Senate of the United States.

He enjoyed simple things in life; a strong handshake, a hearty laugh and being humble. He was always the same no matter whether he was inside a movie studio, on the Senate’s floor, at his home or in Lawrenceburg’s town square.

An attorney per excellence, Fred Thompson contributed to the resignation of President Richard Nixon. He had also acted in some of the major television series and movies of his times. And, as a senator, he had represented Tennessee in the senate of the U.S. during 1994 to 2003.

Team MNG would like to extend its sincerest condolences to his family. May God rest his soul in peace!
