‘Frozen 2’ Movie Update: Olaf to Play as Elsa’s Love Interest? Chris Buck Says the Sequel Has a ‘Terrific Ending’

Disney’s “Frozen” has undoubtedly become the number one animated film of all time, surpassing “The Lion King” following its huge success in 2013. Now that the sequel to the movie has been confirmed, fans began wondering what is next for Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven in “Frozen 2.” Will Olaf play as Elsa’s love interest? Read on to learn more about this scoop.

“Frozen” has almost become a household name following its release in 2013. The Disney animated movie raked in over $1,274.2 million worldwide (via Box Office Mojo), making it the highest grossing animated film of all time since “The Lion King.” It isn’t really such a wonder that Disney chose to create a sequel to the movie, but along with the announcement of a sequel comes the added pressure of surpassing the first movie’s success.

Fans began speculating several plots, which “Frozen 2” movie could take on, including a potential love interest for Queen Elsa. Now, fans are also taking in the possibility that Arendelle’s friendly snowman, Olaf, could become Elsa’s love interest in the sequel.

According to Latino Post, “goofy, lovable and caring” Olaf could play as one of Elsa’s potential love interest given his ability to communicate so well with the humans and exemplify the meaning of selflessness and true love. The outlet cited that Olaf previously stayed by Anna’s side at the fireplace and told her, “Some things are worth melting for.” This makes Olaf a good choice for Elsa, who was once described as a queen with a cold heart.

Other potential love interests for Queen Elsa include the villainous Prince Hans and even Jack Frost from “Rise of the Guardians.”

Meanwhile, “Frozen” co-director Chris Buck shared with ABC News (via Rotoscopers) that him and the rest of the team are done creating a “really terrific ending to the sequel.” He said that they can move forward now that the ending, which he calls their “true north” has been created.

Buck previously expressed his concerns over the “Frozen” sequel and admitted that he feels “terrified” that the sequel will not live up to the success of first movie.
