‘Frozen 2’ to Be Top Notch; Possible Villain Either A Wicked Witch or Nome King?
Actor Josh Gad, who voiced the character Olaf in Disney’s “Frozen,” shared an update about the upcoming “Frozen 2” in an interview a couple of days ago. Is the development of the Disney sequel complete? Read on for more details.
Gad, who will also be seen in “Pixels,” said that the creative team for “Frozen 2” was constantly developing the sequel. He revealed that she is excited every time he hears it. He also thought that the upcoming Disney film would be wonderful.
Although Gad also said that the release date of the film was still a long way; however, he expected it to be a top notch than “Frozen.”
“I think it’s still a bit away. I think that the creative team is really taking their time to define how to top that story,” Gad told ComingSoon.net in an interview.
It should also be noted that “Frozen” co-creator Chris Buck previously said that he felt “overwhelmingly” pressured to surpass the animated movie due to its massive success. Since the release of the Disney Pictures animated film, it already had a whopping box office hit of $1.279 billion. It was also said to be the second-most pirated animation motion picture of 2014, estimated to be around 30 million unlawful downloads.
“Frozen 2” Villains: Wicked Witch of the West or Nome King?
On top of that, Daily Mail reported that the “Frozen” theme song “Let It Go” won the original song. It was aside from the film getting the Oscar’s award as best animated feature.
“We have lots of things to figure out but at least we know where we are going,” Buck said.
The co-creator also said that the plot of the “Frozen 2” might have some aspects of his Australian visit. It was despite the fact that he did not confirm what exactly it was. But the report said that Buck might “add touch of Oz,” which had books authored by L. Frank Baum.
It was not specified which Oz book it would be. However, given that a touch of Oz book could be added, “Frozen 2” might feature an antagonist somewhat similar either with the Wicked Witch of the West or Nome King. Both were prominent enemies in Baum’s novels.
Nevertheless, Disney is yet to make an announcement and readers should take these with a grain of salt.
As for the release date, “Frozen 2” is speculated to hit theaters either on late 2017 or 2018.
