‘Gambit’ Update: Three Actresses Currently Testing for the Part of Belladonna Boudreaux
Now that Channing Tatum is officially signed on to play the role of card wielding mutant “Gambit,” there were reports about who would be cast in the female lead. Some top actresses including Lea Seydoux’s name was on the list, however, the recent update reveals that there are currently three actresses who are testing for the part of the female lead. Read on for more details.
According to Vine Report, the female lead happens to be Belladonna Boudreaux as opposed to what was being believed that Rogue was to appear in the solo “Gambit” movie. Since Gambit has been romantically involved with Rogue in the “X-Men” series, maybe that’s why fans assumed that Rogue would be the female lead in the movie as well.
For all those who are not familiar Belladonna Boudreaux happens to be Remy LeBeau’s wife who belonged to the rival guild, the Assassins. Remy and her marriage were more of an arranged affair since their marriage would prove to be a unification of the Thieves and the Assassins Guild. But unfortunately when Belladonna’s brother was killed in a fight he started against Remy, the latter was sent away to New Orleans. The character is said to have reformed his life when he came in contact with Professor Xavier and joined the “X-Men.” Since then, multiple times Remy has proven himself to be a skilled fighter and a superhero. It was because of his ability to transform any object into a lethal weapon using kinetic energy.
The three lead actresses, who are being considered for the role are Rebecca Ferguson who recently starred in “Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation,” Lea Seydoux who will be starring in the upcoming 24th James Bond movie “Spectre” and Abbey Lee who starred in “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
As of now only Channing Tatum has been officially confirmed to star in the movie. However, an official announcement about the cast of the movie should be expected soon.
