Game of Thrones Season 5 Recap: Kill the Boy

Game of Thrones” Season 5, Episode 5 “Kill the Boy” was so intense. Even though the series is slowly departing from the books, this particular episode managed to have that right blend for the readers and the viewers… or both.

Let’s start off with Daenarys. She’s out for Ser Barristan’s death and with Ser Barristan’s death, she is left vulnerable, prone to make bad decisions and to panic and that’s what she did this episode. Instead of finding out who killed Ser Barristan, she went all aggressive and rounded up the heads of the main families of Meereen and had them all executed at the hands of her dragons. Yep, it was time to unleash those monsters.

It was a good move since her dragons are involved and it was a great scene. However, she made a bad decision and she might lose her foothold with her actions. Or maybe Tyrion will come in time to rescue her… and probably replace Ser Barristan? Hmmm… that’s a nice thought, isn’t it?

Meanwhile, Jon Snow continues to repair his connection with the Wildlings so he freed Thormund Giantsbane and this showed that Jon is more focused on mending his relationship with Mance Ryder and the Wildlings.

Ramsay Bolton is one psychotic man and we witnessed his psychotic side once again when we found him with a woman in bed whom he berated and raped with no reason at all. Then he followed up this psychotic act by torturing Theon more because it tortures Sansa, too and he told Theon to apologize to her for killing her brothers and he will be the one to give her away on their wedding.

And lo and behold, Greyworm is alive! And he and Missandei did kiss but they haven’t yet consummated their love yet. Meanwhile, Tyrion and Jorah were still at sea on the way to Dany and Tyrion caught his first glimpse of Dany’s dragons. However, they were attacked by Stone Men and getting touched by them means death. Jorah was touched and his transition into becoming a Stone Man is already starting, which means danger for Tyrion’s life.
