‘Game of Thrones’ Star Kit Harington Replaces Robert Pattinson In ‘Brimstone’
The “Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington has joined the cast of the upcoming thriller “Brimstone” replacing the “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson. “Brimstone” includes other stars like Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Carice Van Houten, Carla Juri, Paul Anderson and Jack Roth.
“Kit Harington was so consistently passionate about the script that his enthusiasm and total creative commitment made him a must for the role which had been lined up by Pattinson,” said “Brimstone” producer, Els Vandevorst, to ScreenDaily.
The principal photography for the film started last June 15 and it will start shooting in Germany, Romania and Spain.
The director of “Brimstone,” Martin Koolhoven initially confirmed the casting of Guy Pearce and Mia Wasikowska on February this year. Later Robert Pattinson was declared to portray an outlaw along with Carice Van Houten. Now it is confirmed that Harington will play the role of Pattinson and Dakota Fanning will replace Wasikowska.
There is no reason given for the exit of Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska from “Brimstone,” however, scheduling could be a cause as Pattinson and Wasikowska have been involved for the upcoming movies “The Lost City of Z” and “HHHH” respectively.
According to Variety, the movie “Brimstone” is described as “a vivid and powerful epic of one woman’s defiant resistance.”
The plot of “Brimstone” is about a story of a young woman (Dakota Fanning named Liz in the movie) who is accused of a crime she never committed. She will have to struggle and survive against the intrigues and conspiracies of an evil preacher (Guy Pearce named Reverend).
The 28-year-old Kit Harington came into the limelight for his extraordinary performance as Jon Snow in the television series “Games of Thrones.” He has voiced the character of Eret in “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” He was also present in the films titled “Pompeii” and “Testament of Youth” that were released in 2014.
