‘Game of Thrones’ Becomes The Most Pirated Show Yet Again
“Game of Thrones” is one of those TV shows that have earned the dubious honour of becoming the most pirated shows in the world, and this has happened for the FOURTH time in a series. Torrent Freak is the one that has conducted this study, which is carried out every year and it has come to the conclusion that nearly 15 million viewers have robbed the TV series for this year that is broadcasted on HBO.
According to Engadget, the second place was earned by “The Walking Dead”, who had nearly 7 million viewers express their desire to view it and the third place is taken by “The Big Bang Theory” that scored 5 million viewers in all. The study has also enabled us to come out with the reason as to why this is happening.
HBO, being a really costly channel is keeping the people away from watching it too often. When compared with other channels like CBS and AMC, which are very easy to access and view, HBO stands out apart from them.
According to AV Club, those people who are viewing HBO, are not able to get a cable connection with the subscription offer of this channel being included in there. It also includes those people who already have such a type of subscription and are unable to change it.
HBO has responded to the outcome of this study and to catch all this vast people of people it has launched, HBO Now. This new channel has a low monthly rental cost. But, it seems it is still difficult to pull back nearly 4 million people who are still using torrents in a single day to watch the episode “Unbroken, Unbent, and Unbowed”.
