‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Spoilers: Jon Snow – Azor Ahai Theory Coming True?
“Game of Thrones” season 6 is all set to premiere in April 2016. With the poster, “Game of Thrones” team has teased return of beloved bastard Jon Snow. Jon Snow is not only returning but also has moved on to take back Winterfell. Find out how much Jon Snow – Azor Ahai theory fit now!
Jon Snow is since long thought by fan as Azor Ahai’s spirit. The fan theory is partly why fans are so crazy after development of Jon Snow’s character and could not believe that he just died. Even after several denials from “Game of Thrones” team, the teaser poster was enough for fans to realise the return of Winterfell bastard and ex Lord Commander of Night’s Watch.
Jon Snow is believed to be resurrected by Red Priestess Melisandre, who for long believed that Stannis is Azor Ahai’s spirit. But with Stannis’ dead, Melisandre looks for answers and says, “You see fools in your fire, but no hint of Stannis?” When I search for him all I see is Snow,” noted via “Game of Thrones” Wikia.
Azor Ahai is believed to a legendary figure of R’hllor religion and is believed to have lived thousands of years ago. Azor Ahai with help of magical sword Lightbringer, saved the world from attack of White Walkers.
The Faith of the Seven also has a similar prophecy of “The Prince That Was Promised,” legendary figure who will debut in future to save the world. It is believed that Azor Ahai will return to save the world from White Walkers and Melisandre’s presence strongly hints towards Jon Snow as Azor Ahai, reported Wetpaint.
Telegraph also notes that Jon Snow’s related theory of R + L = J might be also true. It further added that even though Jon Snow always believe himself as Northern nobleman Eddard Stark’s (Sean Bean) “bastard” son, fans speculate that he may be the result of a secret relationship between Lyanna Stark (Eddard’s sister), and the Targaryen Prince Rhaegar.
