‘General Hospital’ Spoilers, Rumors: Cady McClain Returns as Jenny Eckert, Steven Real Dr. Silas Clay Killer?
Latest “General Hospital” rumors revealed recently that another big time star is coming in the famous soap opera to take on the role as Jenny Eckert. Who is this actress? Read on for more details.
In a “General Hospital” forum thread titled “Casting RUMOR: Another big soap star!” via Soap Central, it spilled out a rumor saying that the GH team was casting Cady McClain in the soap opera.
Rumors said that McClain was already close in striking a deal and would be taking the role as Jenny Eckert. The 45-year-old actress would then work alongside her husband John Lindstorm, who played as Dr. Kevin Collins.
It could also be noted that McClain previously starred as Rossanna Cabot in “As the World Turns” and won as the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Aside from that, she was reportedly close to the recently added GH co-head writer Jean Passanante, who had her stint as a staff writer in “As the World Turns.” This explained the closeness between Passanante and McClaine.
ABC previously replaced Ron Carlivati with Passanante and Shelly Altman as a move to rescue “General Hospital” from being cancelled. The show was seen having sinking ratings for the past three months.
Carlivati’s exit from GH were already under the rumors list for a very long time and various fans noticed that Carlivati was no longer posting updates about the soap opera since July 17 on his Twitter account. It was only then confirmed after ABC’s EVP Current Series Programming Vicki Dummer released a statement about their decision to install Passanante and Altman.
The two new GH head writers are expected to start writing this Aug. 10, Deadline reported.
Meanwhile, various fans discussed about the recent “General Hospital” spoilers that noted the killing of Dr. Silas Clay (Michael Easton), which aired on Friday last week. There was a new speculation about the possible killer of Dr. Clay and said that fans might see Steven/Caleb in flashback and revealed as the real killer, as opposed to Morgan, a forum member in Soap Central said.
However, this still has a degree of uncertainty. Hence, fans should take rumors with a grain of salt.
