Girls Generation Photos And Album Destroyed On National TV! SNL Korea Boldly Burns Girls Items
It seems like instead of giving laughter to every viewers, “Saturday Night Live” Korea made a big mistake that angers a lot of Girls Generation fans! Read on!
Fans of Korean girl group Girls Generation took one of SNL Korea comedy sketch episode as a very serious matter as the show boldly burned and stepped on the girl’s photos and albums on national TV.
According to Allkpop, on the show’s October 10 episode, SNL Korea tried to put some comedy out of the music industry’s two rival girl group, SNSD and Wonder Girls.
Based on the report, the show created an episode called “The 5th Army President” where the “I Feel You” singers, WG, acted as military generals who obtained their authority due their popularity among soldiers.
Following the other skits from the comedians, the actors of that certain episode were then shown happily listening to SNSD’s songs until one of the soldiers found them. After that scene, the soldiers can be seen crying their hearts out because their beloved group’s photos and albums were thrown on the ground. The soldier-in-charge even stepped and burned the items as they viewed it as a possible threat under the fictional Wonder Girls military.
Though there were viewers who found it hilariously funny, All K-Pop reported that many of SNSD’s fans (SONES) expressed their anger over the episode as it seems like SNL were saying that the only reason why “I Gotta Boy” singers got the throne from WG was only because the latter left for America.
In return, SNL Korea receives protest from SONES:
To make the fans angry response in control and to not make things any worse, Kpop Starz reported that SNL Korea decided to make a public apology by posting an official statement on the Facebook page regarding the episode.
“We would like to address the scene involving Girls’ Generation that aired during the ‘The 5th Army President’ digital skit of yesterday’s episode hosted by Wonder Girls. While trying to illustrate Wonder Girls’ history in a drama format, we couldn’t avoid mentioning the most popular group Girls’ Generation. We apologize for making Girls’ Generation fans uncomfortable and we will make sure to be more attentive in the future.” SNL Korea said in their statement as posted by the outlet.
SNL Korea went on by acknowledging Girls Generation members, fans and even the group’s record label SM Entertainment before sincerely apologizing once again.
