In “Glee” Season 5 Episode 19 “Old Dogs, New Tricks” (air date: May 6, 2014), the events that had happened following the “The Back Up Plan” (Season 5 Episode 18 air date: April 29, 2014), showcased in Kurt’s perspective.
Kurt. Kurt has realized that most of his friends are now living their creative dreams since high school. He was the only one still on his sophomore year on NYAD by day. He attended a musical production of “Peter Pan” where an unfortunate death had happened to the lead star. Kurt was ready with his music sheets and the senior citizens asked for an impromtu audition to make things official. He had been accepted for the part.
He was still nursing his hurt feelings because everyone was busy for Rachel’s charity show. He had confided to Maggie, an elderly who was actually a former Broadway star, about his feelings. On the other hand, Maggie has been struggling with her relationship with her estranged daughter Clara. He tried to help by looking for Clara. He was first refused by Clara, but agreed to make amends to his mother.
During his role as “Peter Pan,” Blaine helped him in fixing his costume, but his friends were nowhere to be found. He was then surprised by Rachel and their friends after they finished with the charity event.
Performed song/s: “Memory” from the Broadway production “Cats” and Madonna’s “Lucky Star.”
Rachel. Rachel had experienced the aftermath of her missed “Funny Girl” performance, bad attitude and faked sickness. She had tapped Santana as her publicist to help re-build his image. She had helped Rachel to establish a charity event with the dog shelter. They named it “Broadway Bitches.” Unfortunately, gossip blogs had caught with Rachel’s behaviour towards faking her concern for the dogs. Despite another botched attempt at redeeming herself, Rachel made amends with her best friend Kurt by a surprise visit at his “Peter Pan” show.
Performed song/s: “Modern English’s “I Melt With You” and cast cover of Eddie Money’s “Take Me Home Tonight.”
Sam and Mercedes. Sam have caught the attention of a cute dog he named McConnaughey during Rachel’s event. He had taken it home to his and Mercedes’ home. The bad thing is that the dog was untrained and made a mess out of their house. Then, he sought the help of Artie to help him train his new canine friend. The bad thing is that Mercedes also found that McConnaughey got his paws on her extentions and shoes. Mercedes refused with Sam’s decision and told him that his dog needs a better home.
Performed song/s: Sam and Artie’s rendition of “Warron Zevon’s “Werewolves of London.

FOX had previously announced that “Glee” Season 5 finale is set to have its final episode on May 13, 2014. It will began after the big changes that have started with our beloved “Glee” characters.
Rachel had enjoyed her stint at Broadway with “Funny Girl,” but things aren’t going to be so easy peasy for her as reporters caught on with her recent fake-sickness and real attitude towards her supposed charity for dogs. The good thing is that TV producers have informed her about the possibility of doing a reality series about her despite her first failed audition for a sci-fi TV series.
TV Guide reported that Rachel will finally meet a famous TV producer played by Kristen Schaal of “The Daily Show.” She will immediately have a rift with the producer’s eccentric personality.
On the other hand, our recent couple Sam and Mercedes, have kicked off their success on their separate careers in modeling and recording. They will also consider splitting up for good in order to focus on their careers more.
Meanwhile, Blaine will have his own share of the spotlight as he continued to be championed by June Dolloway. Shirley MacLaine is a guest star of the fifth season of the award-winning musical-comedy series.
TV Line had also interviewed “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy about the upcoming finale of “Glee” Season 5. He was also interviewed before about the cast comebacks, a satisfying ending for Season 5 and information about “Glee’s” sixth and final season.
“All of these things are building to a head in [the finale]. I would say ‘explosion’ is too harsh of a word, but something big happens, and the final season is the aftermath of that,” Murphy shared in the TV Line article.
