NBC News reported that the Twitter handler of the said event has mistaken America Ferrera for Gina Rodriguez. It happened not only once, but twice which made thousands of viewers and online users get annoyed. According to Hollywood Life, the Golden Globe Awards was held last Wednesday, Dec.10. The first tweet was “The @GoldenGlobes noms are about to start! @HereIsGina @chloegmoretz @Imangelabassett #DennisQuaid #GoldenGlobes” Then when Ferrera was about to present the nominations, the handler of the event’s Twitter account posted again the wrong tagged celebrity “@HereIsGina is kicking off the @goldenglobes nominations announcements.”
It spread across the social media site as they have more than 580,000 followers.The handler was quick to delete the tweet and post a new one with the right actress tagged in their tweet. They made it appear as if nothing happened even as the online users have expressed their dismay over the lapses.
As the mistake was already committed, fans can’t help but share their dismay on the Golden Globe Awards social media manager. Whoever he or she is, it is definitely a big deal and he or she might have already been reprimanded by the immediate head.
Other fans started to discuss the Latina actresses having the striking resemblance. As for Rodriguez, she didn’t comment regarding what happened as she is elated with her recent nomination for Best Actress In A TV Series, Comedy. She even tweeted “Speechless gratitude.”
