Good bye, Dr. House! Welcome back Hugh Laurie!
Hugh Laurie is famous worldwide for playing successfully the role of a mysterious and complicated American doctor. On the other hand, his dedicated fans know that he is also a brilliant comic actor and singer, extremely popular in Great Britain long before Dr. House happened. In January this year, he offered a sample of his talent while playing piano and singing live “Unchain my heart” at the ‘Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson’. Laurie’s musical talent is not a surprise, as in April 2011, he released his own blues album “Let Them Talk”, where he recorded some songs with well-known artists Tom Jones and Irma Thomas.
The album was very much appreciated in the UK, where he reached the second place in charts. In the US, the album won the 16th position in charts.
The decision to stop the series was explained by the producers as a need to keep the “enigmatic” features of the main character, Dr. Gregory House. In the last few months, the series faced a decline in audience.
The date of the season finale has not been announced yet, but the series will mark this April the completion of 177 episodes. In 2012, the movie reached its 8th season. House MD is one of the most popular American series of the moment, with lots of fans from both sides of the Atlantic and many international awards. For Hugh Laurie, the end of the series may suggest that it is about time to dedicate more time and energy to his musical career. Due to his status as an international star, Laurie has the big cards and a perfect foundation to launch his career at an upgraded level.
