‘Gossip Girl’ Reunion in 2016? Will Fans See Blair, Chuck, Serena, Nate, and Dan Back on TV?

Hey Upper East Siders, listen up! Rumor has it that “Gossip Girl” will be renewed following its season 6 finale in 2012. Will Leighton Meester, Blake Lively, Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley reprise their roles in The CW teen drama? Read on to learn more about this scoop.

“Gossip girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite…” is the show’s intro before the start of every episode. “Gossip Girl” introduced several key characters based from Cecily von Ziegesar’s book series including Blair Waldorf, Serena van der Woodsen, Chuck Bass, Nate Archibald and Dan Humphrey. It also closes in with the tagline, “You know you love me. Xoxo, Gossip Girl.”

The CW series ended in season 6 with the shocking revelation that gossip girl is no other than Dan Humphrey. Crazy, isn’t it? Even actor Penn Badgley shared the fans’ sentiments and thought that the ending did not make sense at all.

While the show may have come to a close in 2012, The CW is said to revive the series for a “Gossip Girl” reunion in 2016. According to Media Mass, the show has been considered as one of the “most influential TV shows ever on pop culture” and millions of viewers tuned in on the show’s finale.

The outlet also cited that there have been previous talks of doing a movie based on the “Gossip Girl” series, but the stars of the show think it would not be wise to do such a thing. Taylor Momsen, who became infamously known as Jenny Humphries in the series, worries that the movie would become a “blemish” to the already good finale of the show. Chace Crawford, who played Nate Archibald, allegedly replied that it would be a case of the book being better than the movie.

While this may be a really exciting news for most “Gossip Girl” fans, sorry to disappoint you guys, but sadly there is no truth to the report, as the website writes purely satirical articles.

According to HollywoodLife.com, Ed Westwick previously revealed that there will no longer be any reunion, as he and the rest of the stars are already busy with their own projects and private lives.
