‘Gravity Falls’ Ending After Season 2; Mabel, Dipper and Stan’s Story Doesn’t End Here!
“Gravity Falls” fans, there is sad news. Alex Hirsch, the creator of the Disney series has confirmed that the show isn’t coming back after Season 2. Read below for the full details:
Hirsch took to his own Tumblr page to tell “Gravity Falls” fans that there will be no Season 3 for the Disney series. He said that fans can expect two more episodes left before the show wraps up and bids its final goodbye. The remaining 2 episodes are titled “Weirdmageddon II: Escape from Reality” and “Weirdmageddon III,” which will be both an hour long and the series finale.
He also made it clear that “Gravity Falls” is not cancelled but is being finished instead. Hirsch said that even before Season 2 airs, he and his team have decided already that it will be their last season, “I wanted to announce this to world at large then, but I was restricted from doing so, mainly because I think a lot of people were hoping I’d change my mind,” he said.
Fans are still rooting for Hirsch to change his mind but Hirsch is dead set to let “Gravity Falls” go. However, he said that the story of Stan, Dipper and Mabel doesn’t end here. The chapter is closed but Disney Channel has no plans of having a full season so far but there remains to be a possibility. There’s the silver lining we are all looking for!
There have been numerous speculations online as to why Hirsch decided to end the show. In fact, one theory on Reddit says that Hirsch decided to end the series because “Gravity Falls” fans have been reading too much into the episodes that they are giving too much away, which compromises the already set twists and turns of the series.
