‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Spoilers: Meredith Grey Doesn’t Need A Man, Ellen Pompeo Asserts Her Girl-Power

Ellen Pompeo, who has portrayed the character of Dr. Meredith Grey in the long-running medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” declared that her female role can sustain the recent course of the show. Read on.

According to an interview with US Weekly, the 45-year-old actress stressed that showrunner Shonda Rhimes’ other television series notably, “How to Get Away with Murder” and “Scandal” are steered by the resilient female lead characters of Annalise Keating and Olivia Pope correspondingly. Which makes her wonder why her own Meredith Grey needs a man by her side to help her navigate the show for another season.

“Why can’t I just be the lead of the show the way Annalise and Olivia can? Why can’t I be on that poster by myself?” Pompeo intensely confessed adding that such a predicament has really bruised her ego.

The last season of “Grey’s Anatomy” started off with Patrick Dempsey’s character Dr. Derek Shepherd involved in a life-threatening vehicular accident. It resulted in the hunky medical practitioner becoming brain dead and finally taken out from his life support.

It was a sticky situation that made fans question the capacity of series mainstay Pompeo to be able to keep in good condition the flow of the ABC television series now short of Dempsey’s character.

The days do continue in the white-wash walls of “Grey’s Anatomy,” which starts this Sept. 24, 2015. Despite the fact, the new details of Pompeo’s character have been kept hush-hush for the upcoming season.

However, Kevin McKidd’s character Owen Hunt who became a regular in Season 5 will probably move up a notch on the domestic ladder but with someone which fans are not expecting with.

Rhimes discussed with Entertainment Weekly, the ambiguous bond that Hunt and Amelia Shepard (Caterina Scorsone) have encircled themselves wrapped themselves with.

“Owen’s going to find himself moving in with somebody that he had not planned to,” the 45-year-old Rhimes added in the interview.

What will fans expect in the upcoming Season 12 for “Grey’s Anatomy”? Will Meredith find a new man? Or will that rumours regarding her being inflicted with Alzheimer’s disease be possibly true?
