Ground Floor Finale Recap: The Proposal, Part 2
“Ground Floor” Season 2 Episode 10 “The Proposal, Part 2” aired on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at 10:00 p.m. on TBS. It’s the show’s second season finale and by hook or by crook, someone is going to get married! Find out what happened in the recap below.
Jenny (Briga Heelan) and Threepeat (Rene Gube) run into each other at the hotel’s hallway, each admitting to a secret they’re keeping from Brody (Skylar Astin). The secrets? Jenny found the ring in Brody’s bag, and Threepeat slept with Brody’s ex-girlfriend, Heather (guest star Anna Camp). So are they’re going to tell they guy about it? They both agreed not to tell Brody anything about their secrets, and they start avoiding him too.
Meanwhile, Harvard (Rory Scovel) and Lindsay (Emily Heller) are in their room, ogling over the money they’ve won from the casino. Lindsay tells her boyfriend that she has some control issues in the past, so maybe they should be careful about spending their casino money. But of course, that didn’t happen as they lavishly spend all of their winnings. They go on a limo ride around Vegas. They buy fur outfits for each other, and they bring back a takeout bag full of buttery lobsters, which Harvard just gives away to Brody. Harvard is also walking around the hotel carrying an ugly but expensive painting.
Mansfield (John C. McGinley) is going to meet his future son-in-law for the first time, and Brody cannot believe it’s only happening now. His daughter briefly makes an appearance as she arrives at the casino with Ned. He looks like an upstanding, decent and respectable man, but Mansfield tells Brody he hates him. Brody thinks that as his wedding gift, he’s going to push Mansfield to get to know Ned, so he sends both men off on a hike.
Derrick (James Earl) learns that Threepeat is holed up in Heather’s hotel room. So when is he going to tell Brody about this? If he doesn’t, then he has to stop this madness with her.
Harvard and Lindsay are called down to the concierge, who tells them that she needs their credit card for incidental charges. It’s been slowly accelerating to $50,000. But how will they pay for this, when they almost spent all of their casino money? Lindsay suggests they play the casino again. She used to be a professional gambler; it’s one of her deep dark secrets.
At his hotel room, Brody spills the vase and kneels down to pick up the flowers just as Jenny walks in. She starts freaking out big time again and immediately blurts out she cannot marry him. Brody is surprised because he thought Jenny was freaking out over the stench from the bathroom, as he just did the number two. When she mentions the ring and he clarifies that it’s for Mansfield’s daughter, Jenny realizes the mistake and runs out of the room.
Brody follows her to the poolside, and they talk about her saying “no” to his non-proposal. She explains her hesitation about marriage, picturing her mom and her many husbands, who are now mostly in jail. Brody tells her that they will never have that kind of marriage. They will not be like her mom and her husbands. Why can she not see this?
Meanwhile, at the craps table in the casino, Lindsay is not having any luck, so Harvard and Derrick sit down at the table with her. They are going to rig this game and get the $50,000. When they did have the money, Lindsay demands that Harvard turn this over to her since she will convert this to $2 million. But this was her test to see if Harvard understands that she has a control problem with money and gambling.
Sometime after, Mansfield returns after his desert stroll with Ned. The boss is still unimpressed by his future son-in-law because he’s weak. He has no backbone. He couldn’t handle the stroll as he returns to the casino all red, haggard and thirsty. When Ned learns that it’s part of Mansfield’s test, he gets mad at him, which is another part of a test — one that shows just how patient Ned is. It’s all very confusing for Ned. Not happy, Mansfield declares he’s not going to the wedding.
At their hotel room, Lindsay breaks it off with Harvard after realizing that she has succumb to her dark side because of her relationship with him. However, just as she’s about to step out of the room with her luggage, Harvard asks her for one last shower together, and she can’t help but say yes.
Mansfield is playing golf with Jenny in his lavish hotel room when Brody comes in to convince his boss to attend the wedding. Brody thinks Mansfield is scared of losing her daughter, and he admits he’s terrified. Brody talks to him about fears and risks, while Jenny listens intently, realizing that this also applies to her own fears of marriage.
In the end, Jenny sums up the courage to ask Brody to marry her. She realizes marriage is scary, but it’s even scarier to live without Brody in her life. But you know who really took the plunge surprising even themselves? Threepeat and Heather! They got married in Vegas!
