“Ground Floor” Season 2 Episode 7 “Wicked Wedding” will air on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at 10:00 p.m. on TBS. There’s a wedding coming up, and Brody learns his girlfriend’s true feelings about marriage. Can he change her mind? Before we get into the details, let’s have a quick run through of last episode’s events.
In “Love and Basketball” (air date: Jan. 13, 2015), Brody (Skylar Astin) was back at Remington Trust, and the first order of business? He joined Mansfield’s (John C. McGinley) team in its annual basketball tournament. Learning about this, his girlfriend Jenny (Briga Heelan) asked if she could also join the tournament. She used to play really well back in high school and was even up for a basketball scholarship in college, but she defaulted on this when she hurt her knee.
Brody wasn’t sure that Mansfield would like the idea of a girl playing on the tournament, but he suggested this anyway, and his boss thought it would be brilliant. They would play against the ground floor team then.
On game day, Jenny did bring her A-game and gave Mansfield’s team a hard time. But Brody got a little competitive too. In the final minutes, he was able to steal the ball from Jenny, without realizing that her girlfriend, once again, hurt her knee. He apologized to her afterwards and even arranged for Mansfield to fund Jenny’s college tuition, so she could finally take classes and pursue her dreams. Mansfield, impressed by Jenny, called this her new “basketball scholarship.”
Meanwhile, Derrick (James Earl) sneakily arranged for Harvard (Rory Scorvel) to go on a date with Lindsay (Emily Heller). Harvard thought that they had a great time, but as it turned out, Lindsay hated that he talked about himself all the time. The relationship was over before it even took off. However, after the basketball game, Harvard made up with Lindsay, and she gave him a second chance.

In this episode, Brody learns that his girlfriend Jenny is not at all down on marriage, and she’s also not a fan of musicals — two things that Brody is quite passionate about. There are deep-seated reasons for Jenny’s aversion to these. But as he is able to changed Jenny’s perception of show tunes and the like, Brody is hopeful that he can also make her change her mind about marriage.
Speaking of marriage, a wedding is coming up! Mansfield’s daughter is getting married, and the preparations are being set. This means, his wife (played by guest star Emily Rutherford) will be constantly harping him about the planning, but as Mansfield is annoyed by this, he puts Threepeat (Rene Gube) in his place. Threepeat takes the task to heart and zones into wedding planner mode. But Mansfield realizes that he’s actually missing out on some important things with his family.
Derek, on the other hand, is worried that things with Lindsay is going too fast with Harvard, who suddenly gets a tattoo in honor of her.
This episode is written by Jeff Astrof, with Robbie Countryman as director.
