GSN Gives the Green Light for The Line Production

American cable channel Game Show Network (GSN) adds another member to its growing family with “The Line.” The network announced last Tuesday, July 16, 2014, that it has greenlit the production of the traveling game show, which will head up to Nashville this Saturday, July 19, 2014 to start the production of its first five episodes. Read on to learn more about this “The Line.”

According to Deadline, “The Line” gives the opportunity for hundreds of people to win cash and prizes by playing a variety of games while waiting for their chance to get in front of the line. Once they are in front, the participants will have the chance to get to “The Vault” and win the jackpot by answering eight true-or-false questions. With every failed attempt to answer the questions, the jackpot will get bigger and bigger.

“The goal of ‘The Line’ is to take the joy of game directly to communities across the country and we are so excited that GSN’s first stop is Nashville,” said Amy Introcaso-Davis, Executive Vice President of Programming and Development of GSN, in Variety. “We have taken something most people dislike – waiting in line – and turned it into the most fun you have ever had, with cash, prizes and 500 new friends!”

Meanwhile, Jim Berger, executive producer of the show, has also explained to Variety the format of the show. He mentioned that the contestants will make use of their intellectual and physical skills, “as well as dual gameplay that takes place both inside the dome and outside in line.”

The traveling game show produced by High Noon Entertainment for GSN will be hosted by Jeff Davis and Candace Bailey. Davis is known as the guest star on the improv comedy, “Who’s Line is it Anyway?” The American actor/comedian/singer is known for doing impressions of Keanu Reeves, Christopher Walken and Jeff Goldblum on “Drew Carey’s Improv-A-Ganza.” Bailey, on the other hand, made her mark as Skylar on the CBS series “Jericho.” She also acted on the fifth season of “Ghost Whisperer” before co-hosting “Attack of the Show!”

Realscreen names Jim Berger, Patrick Jager, and Michael Dietz as the shows executive producers. GSN has yet to give a premiere date for The Line.
