‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Director James Gunn Talks New Character On Twitter; Is It Moondragon?
“Guardians of The Galaxy II” will be adding a new female character to the roster according to director James Gunn. Quashing cross-over claims, the director took to twitter recently. Could it be Moondragon? Read on to find out more.
In a recent Q&A session on twitter, “Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn strongly hinted at the addition of a new female character to the team.
Here is what we gleaned so far about the new character from Gunn:
Firstly, forget about cross-overs, James Gunn says. Chris Pratt’s ‘Peter Quill’ is going to be the only human character in the guardians movies now.
Gunn has been very negative of all cross-over rumors, and also quashed rumors of ‘Hulk’ in the sequel.
So we have an all new character, ever seen in MCU. And she is going to be an alien. The plot thickens.
We have already suggested why moondragon would be a complete badass to have in GOTG-2. And it makes perfect sense too, as Drax’s missing daughter who has already been referred to in the first part (although she is currently assumed dead, but this is the superhero universe, the dead rarely stay that way).
She is Drax’s daughter. So it wouldn’t take much plot-shifting to incorporate her into the “Guardians of the Galaxy” sequel. Not only is she his daughter, but she is also responsible for straight up murdering him once he strayed for the straight and narrow; talk about a complex multi-layer character.
Cinema Blend is also suggesting that it could be Moondragon. According to them, since GOTG-2 is already going to be about Peter Quill’s father, having Drax’s daughter in it would make sense.
The argument is made even more compelling when you remember Moondragon, while Drax’s daughter, is also an actual, interstellar dragon, and can control people’s minds to bend them to her desires.
