Guardians Report: Check Out The Contenders For The New Spot in ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy II’
Director James Gunn has revealed that “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” will see the addition of a new member to the team’s roster. Wondering who it could be? Read on to find out more.
With the “Guardians of the Galaxy” sequel almost two years away, James Gunn is trying to keep the fans sated by offering tantalizing bits of information about the much awaited movie. So when he recently revealed that “GOTG 2” will have a new member in the eponymous team, the internet went wild with speculation over who it could be.
The top contender for this place is ‘Moondragon’, the daughter of ‘Drax’ who was supposedly killed by ‘Ronan the Accuser’ in events prior to “GOTG.” Rumor has it, Drax will rediscover his daughter in the sequel. Given that the comic-book Moondragon is a telepath who once mind-controlled the entire population of a planet, we would certainly hope she makes an appearance.
The other names being thrown around round now are Karen Gillan’s ‘Nebula’ and Michael Rooker’s ‘Yondu’ from “GOTG”,, Master Herald is reporting. From the immensely cool ‘whistle-of-death’ sequence in the first movie, Yondu would be a valuable, if overly lethal addition to the team.
The original roster of Marvel’s “Guardians Of The Galaxy” series also contained the magician ‘Adam Warlock’, who possessed the Soul Gem possessed of vampiric hunger for “life energies of organic beings.” Since Gunn is heading towards the ‘Infinity Gauntlet’ saga with the property, and we have already seen another ‘Gem’ make an appearance in the first movie, Adam Warlock would certainly seem a contender.
“Guardians Of the Galaxy 2” is slotted to release on May 5, 2017. Read this Movie News Guide report for ‘Rocket Raccoon’ rumors.
