If you are asked to name the top female earners in music this year, what would be your guesses? Let us just try to read your mind. In number one, definitely it would be Taylor Swift and others would follow, but to everyone’s surprise she’s not the highest paid singer of 2015. Then who would it be? As per the latest Forbes Magazine list of highest earners, Katy Perry secured the number one position. Fans would be happy, but everyone would like to know the reason behind this. Actually, the main reason for the “Roar” singer to be at number one is her Prismatic World Tour, which is now winding down. According to reports of Forbes Magazine, Perry earned about $135 million this year and grossed more than $2 million per city over the course of 126 shows in our scoring period, plus the Coty, Claire’s, and Covergirl endorsements that contributed to this income.


Talking about her income, the “Teenage Dream” singer said, “I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company, I’m an entrepreneur. … I don’t want to shy away from it. I actually want to kind of grab it by its balls.” The Prismatic World Tour was Perry’s third, in support of her fourth studio album,”Prism”. The tour kicked off on May 7, 2014 in Belfast, Northern Ireland at the Odyssey Arena, concluding on October 18, 2015 in San José, Costa Rica at Parque Viva after six legs. 

Another singer, Taylor Swift who was always in the news and chartbusters because of her songs this year , especially her “1989” album, which secured the second position with $80 million in top earners of 2015. After her most appraised, “1989”, the singer’s latest single,”Wildest Dreams”, is also in the top 10 charts.

Following Swift, Fleetwood Mac came in 3rd, with nearly $59.5 million, edging out Lady Gaga by half a million but Beyonce trailed at 5th, with $54.5 million.
