Is Guillermo del Toro Bringing Godzilla in ‘Pacific Rim 3’?

The director of famous 2013 movie “Pacific Rim”, Guillermo del Toro always has something special in his mind for his films. This time, he came up with the idea of placing Godzilla in front of giant mechanical warriors or super robots. Read more for details.

Del Toro has once again surprised the fans by declaring that he wants Godzilla for “Pacific Rim 3.” We all know that he has a liking for the huge monstrous creature and he made this thing clear by giving a statement to Movie Pilot.


“I would love to see a jaeger and Godzilla duke it out, that would be too much for the human brain,” Del Toro said.

The making of the second part of the sci-fi monster-action franchise has already been confirmed. It was said that it will focus on the origin of Kaijus, the colossal monsters which have come out from an inter-dimensional portal present underneath the Pacific Ocean. It also show the repercussion of their war with the Jaegers, machine robots.

We all know that Legendary Pictures studio is behind 2013’s “Pacific Rim” and 2014’s “Godzilla,” so, we cannot deny the fact that the director might be thinking of combining them together to give an unforgettable experience to the audience.

Meanwhile, filming for the second part of the “Pacific Rim” series or “Pacific Rim: Maelstrom” will start in November this year. It is scheduled for an Aug. 2017 release. On the other hand, “Godzilla 2” will hit theaters on June 8, 2018.

Though it is not yet confirmed when the director will start working on the third installment, one thing is clear that whenever it will happen, it will be a huge affair and it will be a really great gamble. So, keep your fingers crossed and keep reading for more updates.
