Harrison Ford Was Paid 76 Times More Than His Costars For ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opened with a whooping figure and the stars are celebrating big time success of the series. Meanwhile, some seniors star cast of the series have many reasons to celebrate other than the success of movie.
It is reportedly said that this series has paid the senior actors a much bigger amount as compared to the new comers in the franchise. Harrison Ford, who reprised his role of Han Solo in the series, received approximately $16.7 million for returning in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
According to MailOnline, it is reportedly said that 73-year-old Ford was paid $16.7 million along with 0.5% of the gross earning which makes his amount a little too much more than $16.7 million. He has also been given a million compensation during the shoot at Pinewood studios where he got injured.
The newcomers Daisy Ridley and John Boyega have been paid a very less amount as compared to Ford. Stars like Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher took a seven figure amount, as per sources.
It is stated that Ford got the pivotal role in the movie to make it work. He said to be a bridge between old and new generation. The other actors too played a good role in the movie but without Ford the film was not at all possible.
It was already decided in 2014 to vary the pay scale for the returning actors, including Ford, Hamill and Fisher, and a separate pay scale for the general star cast, as stated by Variety.
