Harry Styles Posts Sweet Video for Fan Stricken with Leukemia
One Direction’s Harry Styles shows that it doesn’t matter where you are or how busy you are, you can do anything as long as you care. ‘Cause even with the group’s tour still going on, Styles took the time to make a sweet gesture for a fan who is currently battling cancer.
As One Direction works on their On The Road Again tour, a video of Harry Styles making a heartfelt message for a fan was posted on Tumblr. The said fan is revealed to be a girl named Brianna who is a freshman of the Mainland Regional High School and is stricken with leukemia. The same video was also posted over on her school’s Twitter page, captioned with “Our local #LLS hero, Brianna, just got a video from @Harry_Styles! We are proud of you, keep on fighting Bri!”
In the short video, Styles was seen seated and fiddling on his knee-ripped pants. He first greets Brianna and casually introduces himself. He then tells her that he is aware that she is his fan, and further tells her that he is a fan of her too, because she has been very brave all this time while dealing with her illness. Lastly, he conveys her love to her and promises to meet her if possible.
This isn’t exactly the first time that Styles did a sweet gesture for a fan, particularly one who has cancer. In September 2013, Styles’ sister Gemma learned of a One Direction fan named Kelcey who was also battling cancer and was wishing to receive at least one tweet from Styles. But Styles didn’t settle with just one tweet and went on to having a Skype date with her and even exchanged numbers with her. In this way, she was able to contact him whenever she feels lonely or perhaps in pain.
However, two months after their first communication, Kelcey succumbed to her illness and died. Styles then took to Twitter to offer his condolences to Kelcey’s family and also sent them a bouquet of flowers.
