Hawaii Five-0” Season 5 Episode 5 “Ho’oilina (Legacy)” will air on Friday, Oct. 24, 2014 at 9:00 pm on CBS. In this episode, Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett (Alex O’ Loughlin), reopens his father’s last case after meeting a woman who knew his father. It was during the fourth death anniversary of his father, John McGarrett. WARNING! TV Line has the latest from showrunner and executive producer Peter M. Lenkov on what will happen to Detective Danny Williams (Scott Caan) in the aftermath of his Colombia trip, where he shot and killed Marco Reyes, the Colombian cartel leader who had murdered Danny’s brother, Matthew, in the previous episode “Ka Noe’au (The Painter)


In the first exclusive sneak peek on Spoiler TV, Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett (Alex O’ Loughlin), who sports a long sleeved polo shirt and a tie, bid goodbye to Ellie Clayton (Mirrah Foulkes), a Deputy Prosecutor who had known his father. According to her, John McGarrett had talked a lot about Steve, and had told her that he was proud of him. Steve then asked what the name of her father’s bar was. She informed him that it was called “Aces High," which made him pause for a while, as he had remembered it from somewhere. Back at home, Steve rummaged through his father’s Champ box and came across a matchbox from the Aces High bar.

The second exclusive sneak peek showed Steve getting dressed up in a suit and tie. Then, he went to visit his father’s grave, as it was the fourth anniversary of his death.

In the last exclusive sneak peek clip from Spoiler TV, Steve, who had just finished visiting his father’s grave, was talking to his sister, Mary on the phone. Intrigued, he went after the woman she saw. She recognized him immediately as John McGarrett’s son and introduced herself as Ellie Clayton. When Steve asked her how she knew his father, she invited him to go for some coffee so that she could tell him.

According to TV Line, despite the fact that many think that Ellie Clayton (Mirrah Foulkes) will be a potential new love interest for Steve. Showrunner and executive producer Peter M. Lenkov shared that Ellie and Steve will just be very good friends, and will be someone who had known his father.

The first few episodes of the fifth season have given viewers and fans a glimpse to the multi episode story arcs that each character has. One of these arcs was shown in last week’s episode, “Ka Noe’au (The Painter)." The episode showed Detective Danny Williams (Scott Caan) as he took matters into his own hands in order to save his fugitive brother Matthew from Colombian cartel leader Marco Reyes. However, despite the fact that he had given Reyes the $ 18.5 million that Matthew had stolen from him, Reyes returned a dead Matthew to Danny in a drum. Grief stricken and angry, Danny shot Reyes in the head, in front of Steve.

Showrunner and executive producer Peter M. Lenkov told TV Line that there will be several episodes in which the aftermath of Danny’s actions would be tackled. In the next episode, Danny will confide in Steve as he blames himself for Matthew’s death. He will also have to deal with his own emotional trauma when he finally tells his family about Matthew's death. Also, there will be an entire episode which will deal with the aftermath of him killing Reyes.
