Hawaii Five-0 Spoilers: What To Expect from Season Six
It has been a couple of weeks since the curtains were drawn on the final episode of the fifth season of “Hawaii Five-0”, and a couple of weeks since it was reported on Deadline that the show had been renewed for a sixth season, which will air at the same time slot every Friday beginning in the fall. As fans and viewers eagerly await for a little bit of news regarding the upcoming sixth season, TV Line has revealed, in two exclusive reports, some news regarding what to expect in the upcoming season. The Hollywood Reporter also managed to sit down with executive producer Peter Lenkov, some time before the announcement of the renewal, who shared with them his thoughts about the season five finale and what he hopes to give the viewers and fans in the sixth season. Read on to learn more about what to expect in the upcoming sixth season.
The double-episode season finale which aired last May 8, 2015, a Friday, was a well-balanced conclusion to the season. It had action-nuclear bombs and bounty hunters; as well as warmth- Detective Danny “Danno” Williams (Scott Caan) family issues, the return of Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth), and Officer Kono Kalakaua’s (Grace Park) wedding to Adam Noshimuri (Ian Anthony Dale). However, the biggest surprise of all is the fact that we now have a new “big bad.” It was in the form of Lieutenant Detective Chin Ho Kelly’s (Daniel Dae Kim) brother-in-law, Gabriel Waincroft (Sean Christopher).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, who managed to get an exclusive interview with the show’s executive producer, Peter Lenkov, he describes Gabriel as “a force to be reckoned with.” He informed them that Gabriel as their new nemesis will be shown right of the bat. He will most probably appear in the very first episode of the season, and viewers will learn of his plans very early on.
Lenkov also teased that Danny will have lots of room to develop and grow during this season, especially as he now has a new son, with a grave illness. He only learned it from his ex-wife, Rachel (Claire van der Boom) in the first half of the season finale. This will be the catalyst for him to grow more, and Danny’s storyline will also include how he, as a single father reacts to Grace (Teilor Grubbs) becoming a teenager.
Also, Lenkov mentioned that the storyline of Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett (Alex O’ Loughlin) and his missing in action CIA mother will finally get resolved. Also, it was teased that audiences will finally see Chin Ho moving forward with his love life. He also teased that Steve and Danny will finally go together to Danny’s old home-New Jersey.
With regards to Michelle Borth’s Catherine Rollins, TV Line has reported that Catherine will be staying on for a little while. Fans and viewers will witness her dancing during the “first dance” portion of Kono’s and Adam’s wedding. Lenkov told TV Line that he is not sure on how long Catherine will be staying, or in how many episodes she will be appearing in. One thing is for sure that she definitely will be seen in the first couple of episodes. This means that fans and viewers will just have to wait and see what will happen to the commander’s love life. The audience will have to wait for more news as to what will be happening with Ellie Clayton (Mirrah Foulkes), who is connected to Steve because of his father.
TV Line also reported that the sixth season will pick up during the wedding reception of Adam and Kono and that the couple will have “the worst honeymoon anybody’s had.” It was also reported that Lenkov teased that they will be debuting a storyline that will be “very cool, very different, very big, and something like we’ve never done before.”
