HBO and Game of Thrones’ Overwhelming Emmy Nominations

Who’s leading in the Emmy Awards with 19 nominations? It’s no other than “Game of Thrones!” This is really not a surprise, with its animations, epic scenes and rich storyline and, of course, the characters that we have all grown to love. We do think that it deserves those Emmy nominations for 2014. Read on to learn more about the full details.

“Game of Thrones” has managed to get nominated for Best Drama Series. “Breaking Bad” comes next with 16 nominations for the show’s final season, including Best Drama along with “Downton Abbey,” “House of Cards,” “Mad Men” and “True Detective.”


For the comedy award, “The Big Bang Theory,” “Louie,” “Silicon Valley,” Veep,” “Orange Is the New Black” and “Modern Family” are competing.

“Game of Thrones” is part of HBO’s roster of shows, and this year, the network has gained a total of 99 nominations from these shows and that includes two shows under the Best Drama category.

We also have Jeff Daniels of “The Newsroom” who is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, together with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson of “True Detective.” “Game of Throne’s” Peter Dinklage will not let this Emmy nominations pass, and with his acting this season, he truly deserves a nomination and an award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. He’s not the only character from the show who got nominated for this award. We also have Lena Headey. Well done!

Lena Dunham of “Girls” and Julia Louis-Dreyfus of “Veep” are also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. We also have Adam Driver of “Girls” and Tony Hale of “Veep” competing for the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

These are just some of the Emmy nominations that the network has, and “Game of Thrones” has bagged a huge number of Emmy nominations for 2014, and again, there is really no wonder why!

The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on August 25, 2014 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Calif and will air on NBC.
