The “Secrets” are out! Game of Thrones cast stars in the highly-anticipated third trailer and the cover of Vanity Fair’s April 2014 issue.
The HBO series that brought us into another world-that is the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, is definitely coming back this month and they are indeed ready to entice our curiosities and tease us with excitement as they released a new trailer and a highly-anticipated magazine cover two weeks before the slated premiere on April 6, 2014.
Dubbed as “Secrets”, HBO premiered the third trailer before the season finale of another bigshot series “True Detective”starring award-winning “The Dallas Cowboys Club” star Matthew Mcconaughey and Woody Harrelson on March 7. 2014 while internet GOT fans feasted on the 2-minute clip uploaded on the show’s official Youtube channel.
According to Empire Online, Game of Thrones season 3 trailer “Secrets” is the latest clip of the themed-trailer “Vengeance” which follows the GOT characters in the events after the controversial Red Wedding in “The Storm of Swords”, the third and probably the longest book in the seven novel planned A Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin. As of now, the book series is still two books away from being finished with an average of four years between the releases of the first five novel.
In the latest interview with the Vanity Fair April 2014 issue, George RR Martin told that it’s not surprising that HBO series’ creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff had split the up the story in two seasons after fears of the show catching up with the book series. Before the latest two seasons, HBO had covered the “A Game of Thrones” and “A Clash of Kings”, the first two books of the series in the previous seasons.
The Game of Thrones showrunners shared in a separate interview with Vanity Fair that the series may end in seven or eight ten-hour episodes per season and that’s it, just like Breaking Bad.
“..It’s not something that goes ten, eleven — it doesn’t just keep on going because it can. I think the desire to milk more out of it is what would eventually kill it, if we gave in to that.” said Dan Weiss.
” If you look at the shows that we love, it’s so rare for a series to go beyond that length and maintain quality,” said Benioff.
Benioff elaborated it was a smart choice that Breaking Bad ended with five season and yet, it is still considered as the most consistently great show in history.
Both interviews are included in the latest issue of Vanity Fair that started to hit the stands on March 13, 2014.
