HBO Renews Two of Their Comedy TV Series: Veep and Silicon Valley
According to TIME, this renewal is all due to the numbers that came in from these two shows. On April 6, 2014, “Silicon Valley” aired at 10 p.m. and reportedly got 2 million viewers. At 10:30 pm, “Veep” raked in almost 1 million viewers!
“Veep” stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus who plays Selina Meyer. Her character became the vice president only to realize that the job is not what she was expecting. But, it turned out to be everything that she was warned about. The show is created by Armando Iannucci with other cast members including Tony Hale, Reid Scott, Matt Walsh and Sufe Bradshaw.
As for “Silicon Valley,” the show is inspired by series director and writer Mike Judge’s own experience as an engineer in Silicon Valley during the 1980s. The cast of the show includes Thomas Middleditch, T.J Miller, Zach Woords, Josh Brener and Martin Starr.
“Veep” and “Silicon Valley” are HBO’s two comedies that add a lighter touch to their “Game of Thrones” Sunday night lineup and the audience are taking this lineup very nicely. After an epic “Game of Thrones” episode with so much action, grief and violence, they get served some light-hearted shows. Talk about balance. HBO really knows how to play it right.
TIME also reported that aside from “Veep” and “Silicon Valley,” HBO has also renewed two of their new shows “Getting On” and “Looking.” They will join “Girls” in the 2015 schedule together with 3 new comedy shows “Togetherness,” “The Brink” and “Ballers.”
HBO is really firming up their comedy shows for 2015. They’re on a comedic roll and we are so excited for all of these shows. And did we mention that we’re also very pleased to hear that they have renewed these TV series? Sunday nights on HBO are going to be the best. Watch out for it!
