HBO’s ‘Divorce’ Update: It’s Official!
Who doesn’t want to see Sarah Jessica Parker in a TV series again? Just last December 2014, MNG reported that Parker might be doing another HBO TV series but back then, there hasn’t been any confirmation yet. Read on to learn more about it.
According to Variety, Parker has just confirmed that she’s going to executive produce and star in HBO’s “Divorce.” This marks her comeback to the network after her hit TV series “Sex And The City” where she gave life to Carrie Bradshaw. The network has officially ordered a pilot order for this series and also has revealed some of their cast members.
Yes, you read that right, they are already casting and you can look forward to seeing Thomas Haden Church, Molly Shannon and Talia Balsam in “Divorce.” Church will play as Parker’s husband while Shannon and Balsam were cast to be Parker’s girlfriends. On the other hand, Shannon will play the character of Frances with a successful husband and a beautiful house with no children. Balsam will play the character of Dallas, a widow, and a divorcee. Well, isn’t that interesting?
Aside from Parker, Sharon Horgan, Aaron Kaplan and show writers Paul Simms and Alison Benson will executive produce as well. Jesse Peretz will direct the show. Horgan and Simms will be its writers if ever the show gets a full series order.
Although her character will be far different from what we’ve grown to love (Carrie Bradshaw) over the years, it’s still her and I think she has proven herself well that she can be outstanding in her rom-com roles. What do you think? Are you looking forward to this? Let us know by posting your comments below!
