Hindsight Update: The ’90s Are Here To Stay
Yes, the trip down memory lane to the ‘90s is here to stay, especially as, according to The Hollywood Reporter, VH1’s “Hindsight” was renewed for a second season, just a week after the first season’s finale. Also, TV Line managed to sit down with the show’s creator, Emily Fox, to get the scoop on what might happen in season two. Read on to learn more about this story.
“Hindsight” centers around Becca Brady (Laura Ramsey), a forty year old divorcee, about to get married for the second time to her childhood friend, Andy Kelly (Nick Clifford), who is suddenly given a second chance at life after she was transported back in time to the morning of her first marriage to artist Sean Reeves (Craig Horner).
In the process, Becca reestablishes her friendship with her best friend, Lolly (Sarah Goldberg), whom she had fought with in the 2000s, and tries her best to navigate through love and life knowing the things that she knows will happen.
However, the finale of the second season shows her with a dark horse love interest, and ultimately making few of the same mistakes which caused a rift between her and Lolly. The scene shows Becca shouting in the elevator (that transported her back in time) and saying that she wanted to go back. The elevator doors opens, and Becca stares at whatever is in front of her.
Thankfully, fans and viewers of the show will be able to know exactly what happens after Becca steps off that elevator, as The Hollywood Reporter reports that the series will get a second season. According to the article, Susan Levison, the executive vice president for original programming and production at VH1, has said that the reason why the show was renewed was because viewers not only loved the storyline, but also loved the fact that it brought a sense of nostalgia to those who grew up during the ‘90s as it featured ‘90s music, fashion and pop culture.
According to TV Line’s exclusive interview with the show’s creator, Emily Fox, there will be a lot to look forwards to as their “grand design” will have a chance to see the light of day, and that everything that was “planted” during season one will have a chance to grow, as Becca’s friendship with Lolly, and her search for love will be explored more.
Also, she mentioned that the mysterious man, portrayed by Collins Pennie, the man who seemingly started everything for Becca’s time travelling, is a significant and essential piece of the puzzle of how and why Becca was transported back in time.
Now that it is known that there will be a second season for the show, what do you think will happen to Becca, Lolly, Jamie, Sean, Kevin, Andy and Paige in the second season? What would you like to happen and what do you think Becca saw after the elevator doors opened at the very last minute of the first season? More importantly, what do you think of Colins Pennie’s character, and who do you think he truly is? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
