How ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Lead Jamie Dornan Prepared for His Role as Christian Grey
When stepping into battle, one must be prepared. And that’s precisely what Jamie Dornan did in preparation for his role as “Fifty Shades of Grey” sexually dominant Christian Grey.
Dornan was cast as the male lead for the movie adaptation of E. L. James’ novel “Fifty Shades of Grey,” due for showing on Valentine’s Day next year. Dornan plays Christian Grey, the rather mysterious billionaire who submits willing women into his dominancy through an S&M relationship. Playing as his reluctant submissive Anastasia Steele in the movie is starlet Dakota Johnson.
For their February 2015 issue, Elle UK interviewed Dornan regarding the movie and the preparations involved for their parts. Apparently, his own preparations for the role involved extensive research and a visit to a sex dungeon for quite an interesting, kinky lesson.
“I went there, they offered me a beer, and they did…whatever they were into. I saw a dominant with one of his two submissives. I was like: ‘Come on guys I know I'm not paying for this but I am expecting a show.’ It was an interesting evening,” Dornan shared to Elle UK.
Upon coming home to his wife Amelia Warner and their daughter born in November 2013, Dornan said he took a long shower first before holding either of them.
No further details have been relayed regarding the interview, as the story is set as a cover story for their issue. They later added that they made an exclusive Word Games film of the cover shoot, which can be viewed along in their teaser article.
In a previous interview with The Guardian back in April, Dornan also mentioned of his becoming quite skilled in making classic knots, another Grey talent as a clear way of restraint to his submissives. He first worked this talent out during “The Fall” series, where he played as a sexually sadistic serial killer.
“There are a couple of classic knots I know now, and I've put them to good use far too many times recently. In fact, I'd like to do a job where I don't have to tie women to beds,” added Dornan.
