He has already immortalized “The Wolverine” for all of us. Fans spanning generations has seen his portrayal and not just seen but have truly loved him. So when Hugh Jackman decided to hang up the boots on “Wolverine,” there’s just some other legendary role that he is considering and is more than willing to play on screen. Read on for more details.
According to The Guardian, Jackman was offered to take on the legendary role of MI6 spy James Bond about eight years ago. However, she could not take up the role because the timing was just not right. The actor in an interview revealed that if he is asked now he would seriously consider playing the part. To be quite honest, there’s every reason why Hugh would be perfect to play the role of Bond. He’s in the best of his shape, he has been very dedicated towards every role he takes and besides that he perfectly fits the basic requirements for an actor to play Bond.
Standing tall at 6ft 2in and the depth in his eyes that he has often used while playing Wolverine, fans would surely love to see him in the role. Jackman in his interview cited that he was about to do “X-Men 2” and that was the reason why with a heavy heart he had to let go of the role.
Daily Mail reported that if Jackman does end up playing the role of James Bond, he wouldn’t be the first Australian to portray the role on-screen. George Lazenby has already the role in 1969 released “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” Jackman, however, may face stiff competition from other actors like Idris Elba, Henry Cavill and Michael Fassbender who are also being considered for the role of the suave spy after Daniel Craig hangs up the boots with “SPECTRE.” The twenty-fourth installment in the Bond franchise will release on Nov. 6,2015.
