‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2’ Update: New Image Shows Jennifer Lawrence In A Fiery Style

The fans of The Hunger Games are indeed excited about the final installment of “The Hunger Games” series, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2,” which is expected to hit the theaters on Nov. 20 this year. But now, Lionsgate has released an image, adding to the excitement. Read on to know more details.

The new image shows Katniss Everdeen, the role played by Jennifer Lawrence, standing on a fallen statue of President Snow. The image is captioned as, “When Snow falls, the Mockingjay will rise.” It features other cast of the movie standing tall with Katniss amongst the ruins of Panem.

“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” begins in the midst of a revolutionary war in Panem. The fans will see Katniss taking down President Snow of Donald Sutherland. In her mission, she will be helped by her close pals, Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta, Sam Claflin’s Finnick and Liam Hemsworth’s Gale. Besides, the likes of Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Jena Malone, Stanley Tucci, Julianne Moore, Jeffrey Wright, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Gwendoline Christie and Natalie Dormer will also appear.

Katniss has to kill President Snow to complete the mission. Meanwhile, President Snow will also be seen trying hard to take down Katniss.

“The Hunger Games” series has so far made $2.307 billion from the three movies of the franchise. “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” will be the last installment of the series, and with the film hitting the theaters, the total gross is expected to cross $3 billion mark.

Notably, The Hunger Games books comprise only three books, but it has been stretched across four movies. If rumors are to be believed, Lionsgate may come up with a prequel or sequel to “Mockingjay – Part 2” in the future. Lionsgate’s CEO Jon Feltheimer had, in February, revealed that they were already in discussions about taking the story to a different direction with the completion of the franchise.

To be candid, if “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” will perform well at the box office then nothing can stop the studio from coming up with another installment of the series.
