Iggy Azalea Confirms Collaboration With Britney Spears
Christmas Day has come early for rapper Iggy Azalea, as she announces that she finally gets to collaborate with her long-time idol Britney Spears.
Last month, Azalea posted on Twitter that she was able to work with Spears and described the experience to be “amazing.”
Her post was immediately liked and re-tweeted by many fans.
After doing collaborations with other artists like Charli XCX, Jennifer Lopez and Rita Ora, Azalea finally confirmed, during an interview in Kiss 108 over the weekend, that she was contacted by Spears’ representative to collaborate with her. Apparently, Azalea was contacted due to Spears being previously asked in an Extra interview as to who she’d like to work with.
According to MailOnline, the song the two singers will be working on together will be the first single Spears is set to release next year. Azalea admits that though they have already recorded some tracks, she hasn’t gotten a chance to have a conversation with Spears yet and is hoping to get that chance on New Year’s.
“We recorded a few different things and then one of those just ended up being, I think, undeniably great. Hopefully everybody will get to hear it at the beginning of next year. I think people are really going to love and enjoy it. It's a really fun track,” Azalea said on MailOnline.
As of the moment, both singers have been tight-lipped about the details of their track. Although, in Twitter, Azalea posted: “@SpaceJamIggy to answer ur question: bliss isn't real or the name of our song. also our song isn't about booty (referring to Azalea’s collaboration with Jennifer Lopez) or sonically similar. :-)”.
Aside from working with Azalea, Spears had also worked with Madonna back in 2003 for her single “Me Against the Music.” Moreover, she is currently working on the follow-up to her 2013 record, “Britney Jeans.”
