‘Indiana Jones 5’ News: Chris Pratt Joins Cast? Release Date Set To 2018
He was recently voted as the greatest movie characters of all time. For decades, the brave and witty Archeologist has entertained fans from all age groups. Harrison Ford, who in a way immortalized the character, is even today known for his performance in the “Indiana Jones” franchise. Fans of the franchise will be glad to know that plans are currently being worked out for a fifth installment.
According to Venture Capital Post, plans for a fifth installment have been in discussion for quite sometime and is slowly taking shape. Lucasfilm President has also revealed that the movie will happen and if reports are to be believed, then Chris Pratt, after his amazing performance in “Jurassic World,” will be leading the installment.
In the upcoming installment, Indiana Jones or Indy (as he is fondly called by friends) will go in search of another ancient artifact and fans can expect yet another thrilling adventure from the archeologist. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy elaborated that they have not started working on a script yet but they have been discussing about it. Chris Pratt on his side too stated that no offer as of yet has been made to him.
In a recent poll by Empire Magazine, Indiana Jones left the likes of James Bond, Batman, Joker, Darth Vader, Han Solo and John McClane behind and grabbed the top spot. Whether or not Chris Pratt replacing Harrison Ford is something yet to be unlocked since every other fan of the franchise would love to see Harrison Ford once again in the role.
However, if any plan of rebooting the franchise is taken, then a younger version of the character could lend some new perspective to the story and since Chris Pratt did such an amazing job in “Jurassic World”, fans would not mind him taking the responsibility off Harrison Ford’s shoulder. As far as the release date of this reported fifth installment is concerned, rumors suggest that the movie will hit theaters in 2018. Till the time, one can only wait for an official announcement to be made about the movie.
