‘Iron Man 4’ Movie: Can Leonardo DiCaprio Replace Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man?
Well, will he or won’t he? Everybody is wondering if Robert Downey Jr. is going to reprise his role as Iron Man in “Iron Man 4.” According to the latest reports, he is going to get replaced. So here’s our list of actors who could possibly replace him in “Iron Man 4.”
Robert Downey Jr. is still weighing his options when it comes to “Iron Man 4.” He may have joked about it when he said that he liked the idea that he could pick who would play Iron Man in the next series, and he might have hinted at coming back for the fourth film on The Ellen Degeneres Show, but Christian Today reported that he nixed all such reports when he appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman.
It looks like Robert Downey Jr. is not going to be back for the fourth installment.
So who would take up the mantle of Iron Man for Iron man 4? Well, the Marvel Studio hasn’t spoken yet, but Australia Network News reports that Ty Simpkins, the fourteen year old who played Harley Keener, might play the next Iron Man.
The plot may even include Downey Jr.’s Iron Man training him as the new Iron Man. Plus the fourth film is not scheduled for shooting until 2019, by then, Ty will already be in his late teens and therefore perfect for the role of the flamboyant billionaire.
Movie Web reports that other contenders for the spot could include Leonardo DiCaprio and Jon Hamm, who both look the part. DiCaprio has played the part of an eccentric billionaire so many times that the audience probably expects him to keep doing that in the future as well. And Jon Hamm was sterling as an arrogant yet gentleman-like millionaire in “Mad Men.” Either of them could fill the spot.
